Meet the DS Employee: Chelsey Zart, Distribution Scheduler

If you’ve ever wondered who helps keep deliveries running smoothly and ensures our seed gets exactly where it needs to be, meet Chelsey Zart, our Distribution Scheduler and someone who brings energy, organization, and a whole lot of heart to Dairyland Seed.

Chelsey joined the team full-time in 2020 after starting as a temp the previous fall, and she quickly found her rhythm in a role that challenges her in all the best ways. Each day brings something different, whether she’s scheduling deliveries, managing delivery timelines, or working closely with the sales, production, warehouse, and shipping teams. “I love the variety—no two days are ever the same—and the people I get to work with,” she shared, highlighting how much she enjoys the problem-solving and teamwork her job requires.

Her workdays are filled with communication, planning, and staying one step ahead to keep everything running smoothly. Chelsey works closely with the sales, production, warehouse staff, and drivers to help ensure every order is accurate and on time. The flexibility of the role, paired with a strong team culture, is something she doesn’t take for granted. Or, as she puts it, “Our team feels like a family… we work hard, laugh, and still get the job done well.” 

She credits her upbringing in the rural Wisconsin farming community with shaping her strong work ethic, adaptability, and belief in helping others. Agriculture has always been close to her heart, from driving tractors on her grandparent’s farm to milking cows at her aunt’s farm to owning her own farms for 15 years. Those early mornings, long days, hard work, and family meals have shaped who she is today. 

Chelsey recently purchased a home in town. She jokes that shoveling snow is not something she’ll embrace anytime soon. When she’s not coordinating deliveries, Chelsey is out making memories. She loves golfing (a newfound passion), kayaking, hiking, traveling, baking with her kids, and catching concerts or comedy shows. And when it comes to food, Chelsey fully embraces anything carb loaded — especially cupcakes. As she puts it, “Cupcakes are my kryptonite; I’ve never met a cupcake I didn’t like.”

Her four children, Xander, Harper, Parker, and Cooper, along with her boyfriend Chris, keep her busy and laughing. She also has a “part-time” kitten named Ellie who fits right into the family. On top of everything she already has going on, she’s also working toward her bachelor’s in business administration.

Chelsey is also a collector of moments: vacation memories, ticket stubs, golf scorecards, and even framing her 500-piece puzzles upon completion. She’s got a fearless streak too—she’s been skydiving twice and even swam with sharks. 

In the year ahead, Chelsey plans to keep growing, improving her golf game, and exploring new destinations. She’s already set for trips to the Dominican Republic, and a lineup of concerts and comedy shows and is eager to explore even more warm and sunny destinations. 

To customers, she wants them to know one thing: she truly cares. She takes pride in clear communication, staying organized, and making sure every experience with Dairyland Seed is positive, reliable, and handled with genuine care.
