For over 20 years our staff of plant breeders has relied on the aggressive use of tropical and subtropical climates in order to improve and enhance our research efforts. These winter nursery locations have been chosen for their unique characteristics. While different research projects require unique considerations, we require an extreme amount of effort and planning on behalf of our research staff. The plans are designed so that all of these research efforts can be conducted in an organized manner. In addition, our plant breeders make numerous trips throughout the late fall, winter and early spring months in order to ensure that all activities are carried out properly.

These winter nursery research efforts are synergized with our North American summer program to provide one of the most dynamic plant breeding efforts in the world.
